How Did It Go ?

A group of friends got together for mulitiple birthday celebrations aboard SY Maita’i and SY SPIIP for a very successful week of excellent sailing, dining & general merriment!

Originally two catamarans had been booked, but unfortunately due to mechanical problems one of the catamarans was unable to charter, so SPIIP gracefully stepped in as a last-minute replacement. The guests were delighted with the mono-hull sailing experience!

The two yachts sailed in tandem, with guests swapping between the yachts for day sails, and all ten dinning together for lunch and dinner. The crew did a wonderful job of meeting, and exceeding the guests expectations.

The first yacht in this charter was the beautiful monohull SPIIP:

The second yacht in this charter was the stunning catamaran Maita’i:

Designed by renowned architecture firm VPLP Maita’i (ex CHE) was given a full technical and design refit by its new owner in 2011. At 74′ Maita’i has unique style, which is modern and very chic!

On board, the collection of original works of art sets the tone. Paintings, sculptures and furniture designs of Alexander Calder, Auguste Herbin, Martha Botto, Philippe Stark and Ross Lovegrove are together with modern conveniences such as iPads & iPods in the cabins and the salon, a Wii games console large screen television and DVD player with 300 movies available in each cabin.
