How Did It Go ?

Words do not seem enough to describe how amazing our trip was!!

Firstly, Richard and Adele were wonderful hosts! They could not do enough for us all, in fact our young son Ethan cried for a couple of days after we left them in Grenada as he’d become so attached to them both.

Secondly, thank you for all of your hard work putting this together for us, it was perfect!!

Was the boat kept clean during your stay aboard?
Constantly – in fact we were all shocked, surprised, overwhelmed to find that Richard and Adele remade our beds every day, cleaned our bathrooms several times every day and even swapped out our linen during the sailing period – none of which was expected but was a very welcome treat!!

Was the advertised equipment on board?
Yes – more than expected

Was this equipment in good condition and working properly?
Perfect

Were there any ‘toys’ you particularly enjoyed?
the children loved being towed behind the dinghy in the on the doughnut and being dragged up and out on the slingshot

Did you feel the boat was comfortable – cabins, salon, cockpit, sunning space etc?
Perfect

Richard was the perfect captain, host and travel companion – perfectly matched with his wonderful wife Adele, who is the perfect First Mate/Chef/Cleaner/partner on board – a perfect team – we were so grateful to have had them taking care of us. Note that I’ve marked Outgoing, Professional, Friendly, A bit casual as they are all positive characteristics of Richard’s captaincy.

Did you feel free to choose each day’s activities if you wanted to?
Absolutely, Richard and Adele asked every evening and morning what our wish list was and did everything humanly possible to make them all come true!

Please describe the meals (i.e. presentation, quality, quantity).
Where do I start?! Well Adele completely awed us the moment we stepped on board when she had lunch waiting for us as she was worried the children would be starving after the long trip down from DC – the food was amazing!!! Every meal had us having to undo a button as were so stuffed full of delicious treats. Having done many bareboat charters over the years I know how challenging it is to cater for a group at sea, Adele took my breath away with every meal she presented us, never did a plate go back full! The range of menu items we were given over the charter was impressive – rack of lamb, chicken curry, eye fillet steak, fresh fish and homemade pancakes for breakfast – delicious, inventive, worthy of a fine dining restaurant in any major city in the world!

If you requested any specific drinks etc. in your preference sheets, were they aboard?
Yes – perfectly catered for

In general, do you feel the meals reflected the requests you made in your preference sheet?
Adele earned our praises daily, as I mentioned early, our son Ethan fell more and more in love with Richard and Adele every day when they did something new and amazing to make our trip wonderful. Richard’s constant support of Adele in the kitchen was humbling, I hope the men on board took notes and hope they picked up a thing or two from the way Adele and Richard worked as a perfect team.

How was your chef?
Adele is wonderful! Not only is she a lovely person but her ability to keep things “ship shape” and present a jaw-dropping meal every time always with a big beaming smile is a rare quality, we will all miss their company very much. Note that I’ve marked Outgoing, Professional, Friendly, A bit casual as they are all positive characteristics of Adele’s that we were lucky enough to share.
