Top Tips for the Best BVI Charter Experience!

British Virgin Islands

Not only is the British Virgin Islands blessed with perfect white sandy beaches, giant palm trees and warm summer sun all-year round but this beautiful chain of small islands is one of the top yacht charter destinations in the world!

Sailing the British Virgin Islands on your own chartered private yacht is very exciting! With over 500,000 tourist visiting per year, the BVI never disappoints when it comes to activities and attractions. You might be thinking that there is not enough time in the average 7-day charter to experience all that the islands have to offer. With proper planning and guidance, your BVI yacht charter experience can be one for the books!

Here are our top tips for getting the best out of your BVI charter experience!

Fly into Beef Island and meet your yacht at Trellis Bay – you can be on board sipping champagne within minutes of clearing customs!

Take a sunset tour or if you’re energetic you can hike on Peter Island! Views across the islands are out of this world!

For a crowd free experience at The Baths, go in the early morning or late afternoon – avoid if there is a cruise ship in port. Plan on swimming ashore or weaker swimmers can take a taxi from Spanish Town.

For a sublime sand-between-the-toes fresh lobster experience, venture off the beaten track to the charming Cow Wreck Beach, Anegada! BYO wine and plan on arriving before the sunsets for selfies on this stunning beach. The restaurant provides free transportation!

Visit White Bay, Jost Van Dyke on a weekday and avoid the rowdy day trip boats from St. Thomas which crowd the bay on weekends & holidays.

Soggy Dollar Bar at White Bay, Jost Van Dyke is a must-do but also check out Ivan’s Peace and Love, a chilled-out honesty bar which is a short stroll down the gorgeous beach.

Visit the “Bubble Pool” on Little Jost Van Dyke! It’s a 10 minute hike to this natural jacuzzi pool formed by large rocks. Hold on to your swimsuits though! It’s most spectacular on days when the seas are running high.

Foxy’s offers live music & entertainment – it’s a raucous night out! However the food will be better on the boat.

Start your charter on a weekday – flights may be less expensive & it is often easier for the crew in preparing the yacht.
